Class Etiquette

When attending a class, please be considerate of others.  We have a few guidelines for our classes to make them fun and enjoyable.
  • If you must take a call, excuse yourself from the sewing area.  For any reason you need to excuse yourself, we will not be stopping class.
  • Kids are not allowed to attend adult classes.
  • Friends and family are also not allowed to attend adult classes unless their seat is paid in advance like all other students.  We do not allow "sit ins" even if the person you bring will not be sewing with us.

Class Skill Levels

Classes are taught at Sew Deja Vu with the assumption that students will bring with them a working knowledge of their sewing machine.  "Learn your Machine" & "Sewing Machine Basics" are the only classes that we offer where its assumed that students are not familiar with their machine.
In an attempt to make classes more productive and enjoyable for those who attend, we will be using to following guide to classify all of our creative & technique based classes.
When registering for a class, please check the skill level required to make the most out of your class time.

Just Learning- For those trying this type of project for the first time.
Advanced Beginner- For those with basic skills and confidence in following patterns.

The Love Your Featherweight class will enable the owner of a vintage Singer Featherweight Sewing machine to have confidence when cleaning and maintaining their machine to keep it running well for years to come. We will also go over some common problems that are encountered with tensions and other aspects of the sewing machine. (Traditionally a featherweight tune up cost is approx 79.00, learn how to save yourself some future tune up charges.)
